FAQs about Backup Care

Who qualifies for Backup Care?

Children: Children 16 and under, including: a child, stepchild, foster child, or other child for whom you are legal guardian.

Adults & seniors (if provided by your employer): Adults & seniors can include yourself, your parents, grandparents, in-laws, spouse/partner, spouse/partner’s parents, adult children, or any adult for whom you provide primary care.

Pets (if provided by your employer): You can use Backup Care to cover pet care when your usual caregiver isn’t available and you need to work. Depending on your benefit, that may mean getting reimbursed for a trusted pet sitter or daycare provider you know—or booking pet care through our partner network using a Backup Care day.
