For the past 5 years, I have been working with people with disabilities. I started as a volunteer while I was finishing my bachelor's degree in Rehabilitation Services emphasizing Communicative Disorders. I have worked with clients who have been diagnosed low vision, blind, down syndrome, autism, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, traumatic brain injury (TBI), diabetes, schizophrenia, and many other physical and intellectual disabilities. I love working with adults with disabilities within the community. Every client I have worked with impacted my life to make me a better person; I am more passionate, caring, and attentive because of them. I teach and assist with activities of daily living (ADLs). I am a certified Home Care Aide in the state of Washington and I have nurse delegation training. I speak a little Spanish. I also know American Sign Language; my signing skills are a bit rusty but I would work hard to communicate effectively with a Deaf client. I look forward to meeting potential new clients and am available to work part or full time starting on 7/20/15.
