When I toured the facility, I was told they keep the teacher-infant ratio at 1 to 5. For the month that I had my daughter there, most of the time the ratio was 1 to 6, and I even found them once at 1 to 6.5 (above state regulations).
In the infant classroom, I noticed the babies were never being held and I commented to the administrator about it. She said "we try to not hold the babies in order to foster independence." They obviously know nothing about what babies need.
The teachers are really kind though; they are just hampered by terrible administrators.
During my month there, there were two 13-month old boys still in the infant room, and they were bulldozing over the younger babies. But instead of moving them to the one-year old classroom when there was an opening, the administrators accepted new one-year-olds to the program.
I was soooo happy to get my daughter out of there.
