The nanny network refused to provide us a nanny when we moved within their operating zone. This is after we paid them the upfront $4400 fee!

Grace K, thank you for posting about your experience with PNN. I want to let you know I appreciate your position and want to address your concern. I just now discovered the posting, which is why I didn t respond quicker. At PNN, we strive to leave a positive impression on each of our clients and always take feedback seriously.

When we received your application for a long-term nanny placement in May 2017, we went through our extensive procedure to identify the best nanny candidate from our expansive pool, based on the information you provided. A critical data point in finding the ideal candidate is the job location, as the typical nanny wants to find a family that is relatively convenient to their home. We were able to identify for your family an outstanding nanny that was a quick 15-minute drive from the job location. PNN was pleased to receive excellent feedback from you about the process of identifying the nanny and the quality of the nanny herself.

When you, and therefore the job location, moved and more than tripled the commute time, the nanny couldn t accommodate the longer commute, despite her desire to continue caring for your child at the original location, where one of the child s parents continued to live. PNN has a practice of making it clear in conversation and in the Referral Agreement that if the job changes dramatically, PNN cannot be responsible for redoing its extensive procedure to identify a replacement as you asked us to do.

PNN services a wide geographic area from NYC and to Delaware and cannot expect nannies to be willing to commute within that wide range or any further than they are comfortable commuting. In this case, the nanny would never have applied for the job initially, nor would PNN have presented her as a viable candidate, had it been known there would be a significant change in job location.

After finding a superb nanny for your family, we are disheartened that this is the experience with PNN you decided to share. While it is unfortunate that the job location changed, the agreement between your family and PNN does not account for a replacement nanny in this circumstance. We sincerely hope you were able to find another nanny to care for your child.
