As a hospice chaplain, I have visited patients at Serene multiple times over the past 2 years. I have always observed the care to be with excellence and compassion with the proper mix of professionalism and the personal focus. Serene Respite is properly named ... there is a "serenity" from the moment you step into the home. I enthusiastically recommend Serene Respite and Ms Britton and staff for their loving care for the residents and their support of families as a personal care home.
We had to make a very fast decision to place my brother - it was a very difficult decision but Serene Respite was wonderful! Mrs Britton is the most caring, loving individual - so thankful God put us in her path! She made a tough situation manageable and we knew he was in the best hands.

Having to find a care home for my mother has been a difficult process. Finally, she is in the most idyllic, and caring hands that could be found in our area. We had just come out of a horrible experience that traumatized our whole family. Everything happens for a reason and we are truly thankful, for having been directed to Serene Respite Adult Foster Care. Our family knows this is the best place for our Mom, with the level or care and concern that is provided, but most importantly, Mom knows this is the best place for her. That is where my peace lies, with HER feeling secure, loved and cared for. Mrs. D'arcie, her husband, her staff, and the nurses have truly been a blessing to us.

My Mom has been here since January and I have nothing but good things to say. I feel worry free leaving my Mom in their care. My sisters and I are so thankful that we found a place to give our Mom the best care she can receive. I highly recommend Serene Respite Adult Foster Care Home if you want peace of mind and a good night's sleep. Thanks again!

My grandma Rose is staying at Serene hospice Adult Foster Care, she has been there for around 3 years. Darcie the owner has always made sure that everyone is safe and truly cares for our grandma, now that we can visit, Darcie makes time for us. Grandma loves the workers there and she still does her puzzles and shares them with everyone. We heard about the land Darcie is opening soon to maybe put our dad. We appreciate how she treats our loved ones.
We are happy having Grandma Rose there.

Several months ago my mother fell and broke her hip. She went to a nursing home for therapy. She stayed there for 5 weeks until Medicare wouldn't pay anymore and she had to get out. At this time I felt she wasn't well enough be by herself.I work shift work and didn't feel comfortable with her being at home alone for so many hours by herself.
The nursing home gave me some places she could go . We chose Serene Respite Adult Foster Care Home and I was so glad we did. She had 24 hour care and I could go to work with out the worries of her being alone. Mrs. Darcy, the owner was so sweet and easy to work with. I felt my mother was in good hands. She had her own room. This gave her the privacy she needed. All her needs were taken care of. I was so grateful to have found Serene Respite. If in the future my mother needs personnel care this is were we will go. I am so grateful to have found Serene Respite.
I talked to a lady and she was very pleasant person. I would love to work there. I was pleasantly surprised to see a foster care facility in Dickinson TX. I worked caring for elderly for over 16 yrs in many nursing homes. Manor care, Harbor View, Mainland Hospital and ClearLake Hospital also. Also Meadow Glean Meadow Glen Lane , Sea breeze nursing in Texas city. I'm retired an need a least 30ty a week. Trying to get a home. I am a Harvey victim and mold is in the home area. It's not to bad getting rid of it slowly. I really need to work!!!! Thank y PhyllisBarbaria

It was a blessing to have our Love One as a resident with Serene Respite Adult Care Home.
When our Love One was admitted at Serene Respite Adult Home Care her condition was very poor. She had been diagnosed Bipolar and Schizophrenia with her weight abnormal from malnutrition.
After Serene Respite carefully evaluated Ms. Works, (our love one) health condition, the staff immediately began to prepare a special diet and different foods to meet the criteria that Ms. Works needed to get her back on track of eating right and giving her the best possible care.
With the special care and attention which Serene Respite gave Ms. Works , things began to change for the good . The special loving care and attention Ms. Works was getting her frame of mind and attitude began to change . She began to respond favorably and positive to the staffs' needs and request.
Within time Ms. Works overall health began to improve along with her weight.
We appreciate the hard work and special treatment Ms. Works received. She was a recipient of extra love and care during the time she was a resident at Serene Respite Adult Care. We will forever be grateful for the love and care she received .
As time past, In the care of the home, Ms. Works' health began to decline and it became necessary for Hospice to care for her. Serene Respite was her home, her save place and her parloro, all of which she loved .

Serene Respite Adult Foster Care Home provided EXCELLENT care for both of my elderly parents after both were discharged from a local hospital on hospice. Mr. & Mrs. Britton are exceptional ~ a compassionate, caring Christian couple. The Britton's, along with their staff, were respectful of my parents (ages 91 & 92) final wish, to remain together and not be separated because of the different level of care required. From the moment I walked into the home I felt the sense of serenity that exuded from the personnel and atmosphere inside the home. Beyond the superior physical care, the emotional support and knowledge of the process that was occurring as my mother's life neared the final days helped my understanding and acceptance of the inevitable. My mother's care required demands (wound care, feeding, etc) while my dad was treated with respect, understanding and compassion as he was losing the love of his life after 67 years of marriage. If there was ever a perfect scenario to a peaceful transition it occurred in this home.

From the moment I met Mrs. Britton I knew there was something very special & honest about her. From her pleasant smile to the gentle tone of her voice, I immediately knew she had a gift and grace about her that I could entrust the people I love in her hands. Even when I'd come visit the warmth and calmness I felt being in her presence kept me in a good state of mind at a time when every part of my life was going through change.

I'd observe Mr. & Mrs. Britton working together as a team when visiting. It was a good feeling to watch Mr. Britton communicate with my dad, who was hard of hearing. He'd always lean in and tell my dad the steps of what he was going to do to assist him and would patiently await my dad's acknowledgment that he understood. This act of kindness and consideration gave my dad that dignity to feel he was not a lesser man because he was unable to do things for himself or his wife.

I could go on and on about the positive experience but no words can match the level of overall excellence provided by the Britton's as they helped me carry-out my parents final wishes. My mother transitioned at their home and my dad passed away 42 days later. It was a Blessing to have the Britton's in our lives during our time of need. I highly recommend their services. Even the Hospice nurses and religious officials that visited my parents raved of the Britton's exceptional level of care.

Our situation has been a bit out of the ordinary. I offered a home to my "ex-niece" that is, the niece if my ex-husband. At the time she simply thought that she needed a warmer climate that Alaska! I thought, easy, we have an extra bedroom, and she had lived with me twice for extended periods as a young child, so I was happy to have her back in my life. However, at age 46, a bad fall sent her into the hospital in Oregon (while visiting family en route here) for several weeks, and. there they found a number of health issues she had. Dhe really hadn't considered that these things could be happening to her. They were and are. Shortly after her arrival here in Texas, she was again hospitalized. It was becoming apparent that due to my own health issues, I could not provide the needed care. But we struggled on until she had a heart attack in early March, necessitating a three week hospital stay. With the help of the hospital social worker we began looking for a place to take care if my niece as I really could not. We found DArcie and Anthony Britton at Serene Respite Home Care. They are WONDERFUL! Just as the name says, it is serene, something my niece needs, (a characteristic, I fear I lack). They provide the home care that I cannot. They are loving and kind to all the residents, and do their best to keep my niece on her strict diet. As I don't drive, and it took a little while to set up transportation for dialysis, Mrs. Britton provided that transportation a few times when I was unable to do it. She has also made sure that I am aware of all my nieces needs, things I might never notice since I have NO medical training. She helps my niece to do all that she can for herself, being firmly supportive. I am so appreciative of the Brittons and their loving care of their patients, who are treated as good family members, I really don't know how to express it, other than to say, that for me and mine, they have truly been a blessing from God!

Know you're losing your best friend / partner is excruciating, however, when the time comes for their final days, I can think of no better place than Serene Respite. Mr. Anthony & Mrs. Darcie are caring, nurturing Christian care takers, and their facility is quiet and clean. I can't recommend Serene Respite Home Care highly enough. They were so caring and look great care of my sweetheart. They provided exemplary care for his duration. Steve had the best care I prayed for. Love, Love

When it's time to procure home care for your elderly, frail parent, you want peace of mind knowing that they are being treated with compassion, their needs are being met, and they are being cared for with dignity and respect. Mrs. Darcie and Mr. Anthony have dedicated their lives to provide the best. Mrs. Darcie has a gentle, kind, sweet disposition and her nuturing, calm spirit is soothing and reassuring. Mr. Anthony is very attuned to patient needs and his patience and caring are truly that of a gentleman. I felt so at ease knowing my mother was recovering in such a special place. I whole heartedly recommend Serene Respite Home Care without reservation. They embraced my mother and provided 5-star care for her duration. I love this place.

This care home not only takes care of the physical needs of the person but the spiritual, and emotional as well. This is a healing atmosphere with really good food that aids in the healing. They brought me back from a dark place and helped me realize how important my life is.
