My name is Karen and I was born in the Dominican Republic and immigrated here at the age of 8. I grew up in Duluth, Georgia and right away got involved in dance, cheer leading, volunteering, and babysitting. I graduated high school in May 2011. I am attending Gwinnett College for a Medical Assistant degree. I hope to become a certified Sonographer and practice somewhere in my hometown.
As your child caregiver, I look forward to building a close relationship with your children (since I will be there the entire school year), mentoring them in every teachable moment that we cross, building character, discipline, and letting loose and enjoying ourselves on a daily basis. Children get bored; I have the personality and the energy to keep them entertained after school. Unlike other babysitters, I will put effort into planning exciting activities each and every day (painting, coloring, making shirts, dancing, singing, cooking projects, planting, reading, learning Spanish, playing games, visiting exciting recreational parks, etc.!).
Not only do I hope to build a good relationship with the children, I also want them to feel comfortable with me and know that I am responsible and reliable. I have much experience in childcare, as I cared for a 2 month old baby girl up until she was 4 years old. I will not only be a babysitter, I will be a professional. This means showing up on time to work every day, keeping good communication with you, letting you know what's going on every day, and taking full responsibility in creating diverse and creative activities, not just watching TV. I have been doing this for 7 years.
