The Learning and Play Center is a private, non-profit agency, with a STAR 3 certification, operated inside the First Church of God.
The purpose of our program is to promote the growth and development of children and support families by building a partnership that recognizes the parents as the child's first teacher.
The Learning and Play Center is under new management as of November 2011.
Our center provides care for children ages birth to six years. Breakfast, lunch, and snack are provided daily. Our Educational program follows the Creative Curriculum. Child observations and work sampling are used to document and record your child's developmental progress.
Our goals are:
--- to include all children
--- break down each objective into realistic expectations to help the staff plan the program, provide children with a safe environment conducive to exploration and experimentation
--- to provide children an atmosphere of stimulation and creativity that encourages language, cognitive development, motor skills, and prepares the child for successful entry into school
--- to prepare the children for all aspects of life, by helping them develop to their full potential intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically.
Our center is licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare and meets applicable Federal, State, and local regulations.
