I went into this Daycare unannounced (April 2012) and I walked into what was the nusery and found someone (Director wasn't there on this day either). The nusery reminded me of an orphanage. I was very disappointed, I was there to find care for my grandaughters but to be truthful...I wouldn't put my dog there and I don't even have a dog. I called the DHHR in Cabell Co. and was told that they do not monitor Daycares...Charleston does. I have an Early Childhood Degree and I can tell you that they were out of ratio, place was dirty and I felt so sorry for the children. This daycare needs someone to either shut it down or get another director because obviously the one that is over it now...doesn't have a clue nor cares about the children in her care. We are court mandated reporters to protect children and I have taken the steps to let the people in charge know that this daycare needs monitored regularly or better yet...CLOSED DOWN.

We were going to put our children in Kim's Kids because it was only 3 blocks away from our home but when we went in to check it out it was a mess. Doors unlocked, kids screaming and running everywhere, no organization what so ever, staff unaware of their Directors location. We were able to walk around without a staff member escort and the fact that the door was unlocked were the biggest things that made us leave and search for a new place.

My kids ages 2 and 4 attended Kims Kids child care center for less than a week, and they shouldnt have went at all. The first day we were not welcomed into the center, walking in to seeing noone with no code and no locked door. I stood in doorway heard some children crying and saw one run down hallway and eventually helped myself into searching for director. Then we sat in the "office" that was in what appeared to be a closet or very small room and was completely unorganized. No worker in that place was friendly. There were not designated places to put bags/clothing/blankets all thrown together on stairs or in closet. Too many workers per number of children. The children seemed to be miserable. They claimed it was a child care/ PRESCHOOL, but never in the three days that my son was there did I see a sign of preschool activity. Please do not take your children to Kims Kids, they need to be shut down!

I went to visit this daycare as a potential center for my son, I walked in, the door was unlocked, there were kids of every age running wild throught this house, anyone could have walked in and taken a child out of there. I finally found an adult in another room who was too busy with an overload of children to point me in the direction of the nursery. She told me to just go back there by myself... when I asked where the director was she told me that she had already left for the day (it was only 3:00pm). I basically walked in and walked right back out.
