Initial meeting and tour of facility was promising. Director Tiare Lindo seems interested and sincere in her desire to provide a good service. After the tour, we began the assessment phase and over the next two weeks completed all of the required paperwork. This also included her visiting my Mom at her current daycare setting and spending more than 2 hours there learning about her and her levels, and speaking with and watching her current caregivers. Our quote came in at just over 6k per month and we decided that we would proceed. The day we moved in, we were surprised to be billed for an additional week of care. When questioned, we were told that it was because the paperwork took a week to get back from the doctor and she 'already had staff scheduled to care for Mom'. We went ahead and paid that, even though it didn't feel right. After moving my Mom in to KeAloha, within one week they DOUBLED her rent. She is supposed to be a dementia expert and trainer, but my Mom never was given the chance to settle in before they pulled the switcheroo. Really sad that we had to move my Mom again in less than two weeks - BEWARE- the motivator here is big money!
