I worked for Children of America Bull Run for over 2 1/2 years, in that time my daughter was a student there. She's been going there since she was 3. It used to be great she used to love coming there and seeing her teachers, when they wouldn't quit (that happened often: teachers came and went ALOT). She was so excited to start Kindergarten but that soon went away. The school age teacher would be put in the classroom with 12 or more children by herself. She did her best to get the children on in time but being a one woman show with all of those children was not easy. She would easily get frustrated with the children, but who wouldn't she rarely had help. Plus being in the room with her 3 kids it's hard to make sure everyone is on everything they need to be. Most the issues began when Addison started school last Tuesday. She soon began to dislike school and not want to go in. She didn't want me to leave her in the classroom and I thought it was just a child attached to her mother. Boy was I wrong. You see on Monday Addison took her favorite Pokémon book to daycare with her. I didn't think it would be an issue, but the Assistant Director took her book and took it over to the school age teacher and wanted to tell her that she had a book like it implying my daughter had taken the book. Now be mind my 5-year-old is telling me this as I am on the way home from work. She's upset she said she told the AD that it was her book her mom bought it from Walmart, and her response was yeah ok. Really what kind of AD accused a 5-year-old of stealing a book. She didn't even bring the concern to me. Then every morning I'm in school age helping the children get online waiting for the teacher to clock in, she wasn't even on the clock! Addison got up and was upset her headphones weren't working so she became pretty upset when she came to talk to me about it her teacher started yelling at her: " you better sit down and stop all that just cause your mom is in here doesn't mean anything." And once Addison became upset and began to cry, she told her don't be getting emotional on me. All while our director is standing right there doesn't say a word. When i bring it to her attention later that day her response is you need to start standing up for yourself. I will not be causing a scene Infront of children as a director that was her place to step in and take care of the situation. So, at this point I put Addison's notice in, come home and watch the recorded sessions from her school day and not only did the AD take her necklace from her she is seen lurking behind her in a window. They yelled at her several times you can see as she will gently look up, but god forbid, she looks at the AD she will yell at her to stop looking at her like she did yesterday to Addison. She looked terrified to do anything in the video she didn't even move because she was too scared to get yelled at. The AD also commented on her weight yesterday telling Addison she has a big body which I think is absolutely discussing as a management Childcare professional I think it is sad that the teacher and AD chose to terrorize and pick on a 5-year-old.

New management has taken over and the center is going downhill. The staff is quitting left and right and the staff that remains are parents of children and I have not found a staff member that is an actually qualified teacher. This is why they don't plan or follow through on activities. Take your children elsewhere where they can learn and grow.
