I was very impressed with how efficiently ran the center was. It was very safe and secure which gave me a lot of peace of mind. By the end of my children's first day all the teachers knew both of their names. That alone made me feel like the teachers really cared for the children as opposed to them just putting in their time. My kids loved their teachers and were never upset about being drop off. The center is very clean and organized as well. I love that the kids spend much of there day learning as well as playing and that they get some time outside to stretch their legs and get some fresh air. I recommend them to everyone looking for quality child care.

While Cathedral has a wonderful set up- I was concerned about how over worked the staff is! They work 10 hour days without receiving a lunch hour and I know I can get really stressed out with just MY one little one I couldn't imagine being with 5-8 infants and not able to take a breather for 10 hours. They are also forced to wean children from bottles, pacifiers, and sippy cups weather parents wish to start working on that or not!

Cathedral Daycare is very excited to be joining the Care.com team. When I read the review above, I was both pleased and concerned. We do take pride in our set up, as it's one of the things that makes us a success. However, I'd like to clarify how we provide breaks to our teachers. Our teachers do work 10 hour shifts, and each teacher has the opportunity to take a break. In our younger infant rooms and in rooms where there is only one teacher, we have a paid staff member who provides them with a break. Teachers who share a classroom break each other during naps. If teachers need something during the day when it is not a break time, they can call the office and we are always available to help.

Sometimes parents are reluctant to have their children give up bottles, pacifiers, etc. As a center that participates in the National USDA Food Program for Child Care Centers, we are not allowed to serve milk to children in bottles after the 12th month. Other parents have often worked hard to wean their children from pacifiers, and seeing other children using pacifiers can be confusing for little ones. Parents are more than welcome to continue whatever practices they choose at home, but some practices are not best for a center care environment.

At Cathedral we strive to provide the best care for every child and their families. We invite you to come in see the difference at Cathedral Daycare.
