I have waited for five months to write this review about BCDS. We joined our kid when he turned two years old. Everything was smooth in the first six months. Later, when the teacher was changed, this are started to get complicated. The teacher was very non-hygienic and sued to put all the kid's sippy cups near the restroom toilet. There are a couple of incidents we come across that are very unhygienic. When we complained to the principal, this become very complicated, and the teacher stated harassing our kid and our kid was terrified to go to school. We pulled our kid out and joined him in another school. It has been five months since he is in the new school. He is a happy kid, and we are proud parents.

In multiple occasion I witnessed with my own eyes that the teachers were dragging the kids to the front office. When I told the principal, I was told that they need to be punished to learn what they did was wrong. We're talking about a bunch of 4/5 year olds! My kid always loved to go to school but after going here she's terrified and started to stutter.
I recommend this school to everyone. New management and Principal are amazing ! We relocated from Europe and they helped my son adjust to his new environment, I have never seen a happier little boy. Very encouraging and dedicated teachers.

My almost-4 year old son has been at Bethesda Country Day school for about a year now. He really thrives there. He loves going to school. Educationally he is at or beyond a kindergarten level already. I am sure as with any school it really depends on which teachers you get but we have had a great experience. He also attends the before and after care. He will be attending the summer camp this summer and I am just hoping that it is good like the school is. The facility itself is very nice, lots of outdoor space, an open gym for the winter or rainy months, large classrooms, etc. I highly recommend it.

I just got a new job M-F, although on the pricey side, worth every penny! You can have your child attend ballet, music, computer, soccer, ect. Everyone at the front door from the to vice principal to secretary are always there to greet you with a smile. They serve breakfast, lunch and snack. My daughter left her last pre-school or should I call it "play school" where she learned nothing and started to stop using all the skills I've taught her. She was never happy or coming out of her shell. After a week of attending the school, she already feels more self sufficient, speaks more clearly and is always dancing and happy when she leaves. They give you report cards for the day and take the hard work out of taking your child to ballet or soccer. They leave right from class to go attend extracurricular activities. Totally brilliant idea and so helpful to busy working parents. I love this school. All you have to do is take a tour and you can feel and see the difference from other places I've looked at. The teachers love the kids and they feel it. There are teachers and helpers in each class and you can tell they are devoted and kind people who take all your concerns seriously. I highly recommend this school. You get what you pay for!
My daughter has been going to BCDS for over a year and also attended summer camp. Overall, its a good school with a great mix of learning and play. As previous posters mentioned, there has been alot of historical turnover, but everything became much more stable with the new principal who joined several months ago.
I think that my main criticism (other than the historical staff turnover) would be that the teachers could do a better job proactively updating parents about child's day and overall progress. I always have to ask if my daughter took a nap, etc. and we get progress reports twice a year. The principal just started sending weekly emails to update parents on what is going on in the classroom each week and this is helpful, but it would be nice to have a bit more of a regular update.
There had been several changes in the staff in the past year and I can honestly say that this school has made many improvements in all areas. I am pleased to know my children are well taken care of! This is a truly great school.

We pulled our kid out. Didn't feel safe any more, and we watched 18 teachers leave in 6 months.

Have sent both children there over the course of many years. A charming, happy environment, and my kids have learned more than I could ever imagine. Wish they had a better playground, and the teacher retention has not be great recently, but overall a loving, educational environment that I would highly recommend.
Owner is creepy. Management doesn't care about the kids or staff. Only care about making a buck. My one and only visit, I witnessed some bad things. Not recommended.
