Had them for over a year. I really was too patient with this service. I needed someone to come over weekly for light housekeeping and/or no more than two loads of laundry. If they did the light housekeeping, then they wouldn't have to do the laundry. It was light housekeeping or the 2 loads of laundry. A piece of cake because I am a clean person, but I can't vacuum and can't bend much or my pain will increase. All I really wanted for the housekeeping was put the dishes in the dishwasher (I live alone so very few dishes). I would ask them to wipe the stove, refrigerator and the counters. I would have clorox wipes that I provided. I emphasized the need to wipe the hood of the stove because reaching is painful for me. Then just mop the floor, (very small area, I live in 550 sq ft apt. so the kitchen is very small). I had a swiffer for that. Then I just needed them to dust the furniture and vacuum the living room carpet. They would only "pretend" wipe. Because it looked clean to the eye, (as I said,I am very clean) they wouldn't wipe and say they did. One young lady used clorox wipes to dust my antique oak desk. Messed up the finish. Another one broke my vintage cat creamer that sells for over $40.00. Another one was so angry that I complained about her that she purposely broke my vacuum cleaner. There were marks from a screwdriver that showed she purposely removed vital parts so as to render it useless. The vacuum was new and I told 24 hour care about it. It took them over 2 months to replace it. I had to constantly call and email them to replace it. I wasn't out to benefit, I gave them the one she broke when they came over to give me the new replacement. These examples are just one of many. I kick myself for having waited so long and giving them many chances. The girls would tell me they are allowed to leave earlier than the allotted hours if they are done. So that means that they do a half-ass job as fast and as little as possible to get out of there. When they were here, they would be on the phone most of the times. They always said it was a family emergency. I couldn't tell, they would speak in the native Philippine language, or for those that don't have another language would talk so low I couldn't hear them. I was afraid to tell them to get off the phone. Most of the time they said they were talking to their child. Who would deny a mother talking to their child? Another girl, didn't have blue tooth so she had her neck to her shoulder talking on the phone the whole time she is in the kitchen. They were always late, they always wanted to leave early. They would waste my time in so many ways. They would sit down to eat because they hadn't eaten all day. Yet they wouldn't make up the 1/2 hour spent on eating. They would only be here for 2 hours. You don't get a lunch break when you only work for two hours. I constantly complained to 24 hour care and they always apologized and promised to get me a great one for the next time. It was always the same thing. I guess this work is the last stop for people that can't get a job anywhere else. They work with the vulnerable so they take advantage of us. I at least am healthy enough to where I am aware of what's going on. Other ladies have told me how their clients buy them groceries, give them extra money, and all kinds of gifts. So this is the bottom line. The people they send you are wolves in sheep clothing. They lie, they are lazy, they don't have a work ethic, they are unreliable and you are lucky if they don't break your stuff or steal it. This is not a racist rant because I myself am in the same racial minority. They have to vet their workers. I have moved on to another agency. I kick myself for waiting so long to change agencies.
