My family is very pleased with Kindercare. Our baby boy is cared for and happy. We know he is safe at this facility. We would highly recommend Southgate Kindercare!

As a new mom I was terrified at the thought of leaving my child at daycare. KinderCare made the trasition so easy. Kelsey was amazing when my son was in the infant room. She has such a kind heart. Let me visit on my lunch breaks, and was so pleasant when I'd call and check on him.

Now my son is in the toddler one room and Ms. Lisa and Ms.Debbie are just as amazing. I can tell they truly enjoy and care for my son. I am a teacher, so I feel like I have a high standard. They give my son love but also help in getting him to the next milestone. I'm so thankful for these wonderful people!

My kids have been in multiple classrooms at this center and I have been overly impressed with each of them. From the Director to the Teachers, they are committed and involved in teaching the kids everything they should be learning for their age and more. Family members, friends and my son's new kindergarten are impressed with how well he can write, read and do basic math as he gets ready to start elementary school. This center has cared for my children in an invaluable way and I cannot thank or rave about them enough!

KinderCare Southgate is amazing! My son has been going here since he was 6 weeks old and I wouldn't have it any other way. The teachers and staff really care about the children, its not just a job to them. My child is 3 and is learning to read. So many people compliment me on how smart and mature he is and I really feel I owe a lot of that to KinderCare. Ms. Ann and the staff there go above and beyond. He loves each one of his teachers and as he grows in classrooms he still wants to go back to say hello to all of his other teachers. I appreciate everything they do and they are open rain or shine!

KinderCare's program and facility are very nice. They have ample space in 2 toddler rooms, a large gymnasium for the kids to play in, and a spacious outdoor area which is fully fenced in. We liked the fact that we had to enter a security code to enter the building, making us feel like the safety of our child was a top priority. The director Ann was very kind, knowledgeable, and helpful.

Unfortunately, the "Toddler Room" teachers were not as impressive. We brought our 15 month old son there for a total of 5 days. On the first day when we dropped him off, I made it clear that we had been trying to wean him off of his pacifier and stressed that he was only to have it for naps. When I picked him up, he was wandering around playing with his pacifier in his mouth. This was very disappointing, as any parent who has tried to wean a toddler off a pacifier knows, consistency is crucial. Another problem I noted was that during the pick-ups and drop-offs, they didn't seem to adhere to the 1 teacher to 4 children ratio as strictly as they claimed to. I've witnessed 2 teachers supervising as many as 10 kids, 1 teacher supervising 5, and a few other odd combos that did not equate to 4:1. I'm not sure if the additional teacher had temporarily stepped out of the room or what, but rarely did I see the 4:1 in practice. Finally, the biggest issue I had was when I went to pick up my son early for a doctor appointment that I did not let them know about, I found the one teacher in the room with sleeping children (all but MINE were asleep) sleeping herself! The teacher was sleeping! My kid was not. When I went to inform the office staff of this, they looked at me like I was crazy. I know watching toddlers is exhausting but this was very troubling and I pulled him from that facility that instant.
KinderCare offers curriculum based learning from infancy on up. My children have been going there since 2010. My six year old started reading books at 4, learning Spanish, and even cooking skills. He just finished summer camp and loved it. My 3 year old speaks clearly since age 2 (no baby talk) and can express how she feels rather than having tantrums. The center follows strict sanitation and safety standards. I get daily communication forms and partner with the teachers to customize my childrens' learning needs. Since they are nationally accredited now, it is the best deal on this side of town if you want children that are well-rounded and ready for Kindergarten and if you don't want them to get "brain drain" during the summer. The director and the staff are concerned and interested in your child. You will truly feel that your children are in safe hands.

This center is excellent. I have been taking my son here full time for 3 years now and I have not been disappointed. The teachers are well educated and versed in their profession which reflects in how the interact with the children. In my 3 years, I have only seen 2 teachers move on, which is great for the children to be able to bond with their teachers as they grow and transition to new rooms. My son absolutely loves the activities and the constant learning thru playful means. I pop in regularly thru the week for stretches just to secretly watch the teachers thru the door window, or sometimes I go right in the room and sit down. During my sons first year, I practically stayed in the infant room everyday on my lunch break.

Again, if you are looking for a child care center in the downriver area, this particular center is bar none the best. I have checked out many Montessori daycares and I am simply impressed and comfortable with my sons progression at this center. They offer many additional programs like Spanish and grammar, which my 3 year old just eats up. When he comes home, the singing and dancing doesn't stop.

Well, I can go on, but what makes the difference between this center and others is not the huge play ground or the large class rooms or the well balanced free meals, it's the teachers and support staff. Again, when I see the smiles and hugs that greet my son early in the morning until evening pick up time, you can't put a price n that. I dig this center and the love and structure it affords my son.

Check it out. I give it 5 stars. This center was referred to me by my colleagues who took their children there more than 12 years ago and she had nothing but great stuff to say about it then and, in my opinion, it has only gotten better.
