Toured this location while pregnant with my first baby & literally wanted to cry when I left this place. They give tours when the babies & kids are there. I've known places to give tours after hours for safety/privacy of kids. I just called & scheduled appointment. Staff have never met me & I walked up to locked gate said I had appointment & they left me in. Then ushered me to infant room. Asked me to put on covers over my shoes before I entered BUT then asked me to put my USED shoe covers back into the bin for use again!! How is that hygienic when the babies are crawling on the floor & you're not using clean shoe covers!? Also the 2 women in nursery seemed overwhelmed with the 6 babies. I saw the staff kissing babies on the face. Babies crawling all over on dirty carpet & worn baby blankets/pillows. No hand sanitizer when I asked. Staff didn't wash their hands before getting bottles to feed babies either. I'm a nurse & was watching everything. Felt so uncomfortable. This place is located in a very busy part of Long Beach (says its in Belmont Shore) but it's not near the beach. A lot of homeless people walking along PCH where this is located. Also cars can just park right out front & anyone can watch kids playing. They shouldn't give tours to strangers when the kids are there! Definitely lacking in safety precautions.

We got on the waiting list and left a $100 deposit Feb 2016 when my wife was still pregnant. The director Bernice Gonzalez stated we could bring our child here Nov 2016. About a week after our child was born in June 2016, Bernice called and said we would not be accepted until the following year sometime in 2017 because a current enrolled child "would not age out." Mind you, she showed no remorse or empathy that my wife had to return to work after 12 weeks maternity leave and we were with out any backup for childcare. It was our expectation was that Kindercare would keep records of all the children's ages... Bernice then suggested we try another location and offered to see if there was availability at a neighboring facility stating she would call us back. More than a week later, Bernice did not call. We called and asked for our refund back. About 6 weeks and several phone calls to Kindercare later, we have still not received our refund. In one of these conversations with Bernice, she stated that the Torrance location did have availability but assumed and failed to mention because we wanted a refund, we were no longer needing childcare!
We have since heard negative stories from other parents about Kindercare and realized this experience was really a blessing in disguise.
