We toured this school and absolutely hated it. The front desk staff was rude and was pressuring us to put in a deposit to hold spots for my kids. The kids in the playground seemed like they were being herded from place to place. It just felt like there was no individual attention at all. They were also going to charge an outrageous amount of money for my daughter to attend part time, since it's calculated on a prorated basis- to the tune of $1000/wk - we just didn't feel like we were invited there- and ended up going to a different preschool and we loved it. So glad we passed on DI.
I am always a bit worried about the type of school my child goes to, but so far I have been impressed, not used to a 4 year old having "homework" but it isn't much and great way to see what my child is learning. I like that Manners, respect toward others and self is being taught along with general education...
I haven't seen anything to complain about, everyone seems very nice and I noticed the angry complaint on this site- might be the wife of the cheating parent, but I am sure that was a freak event and something that seems to happen in almost every school at one time or another :/ but, guess I am not good looking enough because no one hit on me lol

We sent my son here for about a year. At first we liked it a lot. We LOVED his teacher but then she left and the ratio of students to teachers became ridiculous. Too many children in the room and not enough attention caused stress to my son so we pulled him out.

My daughter was at this school for a year and a half and we both loved it! The teachers were committed to making her first experience at school fun and loving and she learned so much and was so prepared for Kindergarten. It can be hard to leave your child at school and they handled that transition with kindness and understanding, and I really appreciate that. I would recommend this school to anyone-there are so many preschools in Poway but you will not regret choosing this one. I think the thing that makes this preschool successful is that the majority of the staff has children and grandchildren and that makes all the difference in the world. Thanks for everything Discovery Isle!

BEWARE OF THIS SCHOOL! I have been associated with this school since it was Teddy Bear Tree House. Once upon a time it was a good school but during the course of the last few years it really has taken a turn for the worse. The Principal and Vice Principal are great people but are oblivious to the character of the teachers that work under them. I have witnessed the following.

1. Texting and chatting on the phone during class time
2. Inappropriate conversations in front of students
3. Sexual explicit FB chats amongst each other
4. Affair between a Married teacher and their students Married parent
5. Making fun of students

The school environment is more like a Sorority focused on social lives and partying than an actual school. As a parent, I would avoid this school at all costs!
