Priscilla, Experienced Babysitter, Teacher, Recent College Graduate

Avg response < 2 hrs
Shortly after college, I moved to Beijing, China in order to see the world and hopefully make a difference in at least one child's life. I ended up living and teaching English in China for 2 years. The class I taught was kindergarten level (ages 5-6) and was one of the best experiences of my life, so far. I learned that my natural talents lie in teaching and care-giving. I found a special connection with every child I taught and they all have a special place in my heard. Each day was a new adventure in my class and I was able to work through the language barrier to effectively communicate simple concepts. After two years, I decided to move back to America (recently) in order to further my education and prepare for graduate school. While preparing for graduate school, I am looking for part time employment as a nanny, caregiver or babysitter because helping people is where I find the most joy. I also have two younger sisters ages 10 and 15 who have taught me a lot about child care. I love children and the creativity and imagination they bring to every situation. Growing up, I babysat for various neighbors as well as my own parents. While in high school, I worked for my local congregation watching 6-10 children ages 6 months-2 years every Sunday during Mass. In college, I also had a few babysitting jobs that allowed me to grow lifelong friendships.

Part-Time Child Care Provider

I have lived in Kingman, Arizona my entire life. I recently moved to Buckeye, Arizona to attend school at Estrella Mountain Community college. I am studying to become a Special Education Teacher. I have babysat children as part-time work for approximately six years. I have cared for children of friends, neighbors and family members. My main experience included taking care of 2 little girls, ages three and six during the summer and after school. My duties included preparing meals, bathing, interacting, and getting them ready for bed. I read them stories and met their needs. After putting them down for a nap or their bedtime I would take time to straighten up the house and clean the kitchen and their play area. I've babysat my little brother from the time he was born until now. I also babysat an infant and a 3-year-old for another family for five days while their parents were on a business trip over the summer time. I watched them day and night, took them to their doctor's appointment and took care of their every need. I believe in nurturing self esteem, creating a good learning and playful environment, and coming up with creative solutions to any problems that may arise. I have experience with caring for infants to school age children. I love and enjoy the company of children. I like to interact with them by playing games, doing activities, and helping with school work. A safe and healthy environment is a priority. I always keep a close watch and stay near the children at all times. I don't mind doing light duty housework, when needed or take initiative, when appropriate. I am willing to transport children to after school activities, or appointments when requested. I am very honest, trustworthy, responsible, and reliable. References are available upon request.
