Seeking care for my father in his 60s. Services needed: companionship, bathing / dressing, feeding, meal preparation, medication prompting, mobility assistance. No prior experience required. Specialized care needs: CPR/first aid training, support for chronic illness, nursing experience. A little more about my father: he can be anxious, lethargic, pleasant, grouchy, outgoing, reserved, independent. My father is stubborn, old school, but likes to kid around. He loves anything to do with the old west, books. movies, and outdoors. I'm looking for someone who is patient, firm, strong, outdoorsy. My Dad has short term memory loss and is hard of hearing (He is famous for losing his hearing aides). So I need a caregiver that is patient with him. Hospice care will be in a couple times a week to make him comfortable. Just want someone who is loving and kind. Companionship is mostly desired. However, he does need help with a catheter, help to the bathroom, help with medications, and help with ensuring that he eats something. Food has been really hard for him to intake. Bluegrass, Blues, and other types of music are soothing to him.
