Student Babysitter

About me: Hello! My name is Abby. I graduated from Ohio University in May 2015 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in sculpture and minoring in psychology. I am aspiring to become an art therapist and one day help children who have experienced trauma or adults with post-traumatic stress disorder. I am originally from Medina, Ohio where I live with my family. My mother, father, younger brother, older sister, and our many animals are very close. My sister is married with two boys, one 4 and the other 2 who I adore with all of my heart. When I am not in school I spend my time with my nephews who have become the center of my life. Why Nanny: I find it difficult for me to fully explain how much being an nanny means because so many can say they love and adore kids. I think what sets me apart is that I have learned what it truly is like to raise and care for a child. The sleepless nights and dirty diapers can overwhelm and tire you out, but the special moments, like the first time you hear them say your name, the first steps, and first day of preschool make it all worth it. It makes me feel so special and blessed to be a part of something like that and hope that I can find a family that will allow me to become a part of the family and experience the special moments through life with them. What is Important for Me as a Nanny: My friends always ask me what the difference is between a Nanny and a Babysitter. To me, a babysitter makes sure the kids make it through the day and they don't burn the house down or hurt each other, but a nanny is there to co-op with the parents, to be a part of the family. I get to see the children grown up and be present in their lives. Saying goodbye to most recent family I nannied for was one of the most difficult goodbyes I have ever had, because I felt like a member of the family. I still keep in touch from time to time. Please feel free to message me if you have any questions or are interested at all.
