Mother Of 4 Grown And College Age Children
I started caring for children summers in junior high school during the 60's! I was the neighborhood babysitter. After finishing college, my first dental hygiene position in 1974 I provided dental exams and cleanings for many school children. I turned down an offer to work as a State of Maine school dental health educator because I loved working with the Cape children.
I have raised 3 daughters and 1 son ages 35 to 25. The youngest son and daughter are twins. All 4 are currently finished or pursuing advanced college degrees. I enjoy working with children of any age. I have studied child development, nutrition, art, and I love dance, music, gardening, sewing, crafts, swimming, hiking, etc.
When I re-entered the work force part time with 2 small girls, my neighbor was retiring from head of nursing at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine, and their loss became my gain. Our perfect timing of needs bloomed into a long lasting child care relationship even with the addition of the twins.
I believe that experiences can become educational when incorporating a child's passion into new areas of thought.
