Patient, Calm Sitter; Trained Doula; Past Camp-Counselor: Loving & Fun!

(2)
Hi there! I'm Hope - a reliable, patient, and fun-loving caretaker with a capacity for creating genuine connection with children. I've worked for over 10 years as a camp counselor, a babysitter, and a labor doula, and have created some of my most cherished memories in these roles. As I begin the process of applying to graduate school, I'm interested in working as a sitter or nanny in my community, and hopefully creating more special memories with new families! I have experience working with children of all ages, and have enjoyed each age group for the unique personalities they bring to our time together. I've worked with newborns as a labor doula, and have babysat infants and toddlers as well. I always appreciate the silliness and curiosity that little children embody! I've also worked as a live-in nanny and a camp counselor for ages 5-13. It is always so enjoyable to get to know the personalities of these children, and to play a positive role in their development!

I have the pleasure and benefit of knowing Hope on a personal and professional basis. Our families met 18 years ago when Hope's older brother and my son were on the same baseball team. During this time, Hope was always helping take care of my youngest son, R. When Hope became a camp counselor at a local summer camp, R. kept asking to attend it so he could be there with her. R. really enjoyed having Hope as a counselor and we felt so comfortable knowing that he was in good hands there with her during those summers. Hope has always been kind and caring to all in her life, but seeing the connection she has with children is special. Children always gravitate towards her. Her time as a camp director on Block Island was another great example of her mentoring and caring nature. She continued her endeavors by traveling to Thailand to teach ESL to elementary children and had another rewarding experience! I have remained in Hope's life and I feel honored to be a part of it.
