Melissa Jordan, whose creative crafts abound in her blog, The Chocolate Muffin Tree, does more than just recycle her paper towel and toilet paper tubes. The former art teacher finds a way to make art out of just about anything in the house, and if you're looking for a fun, simple way of getting your kiddos' creative juices flowing without spending a lot of money at the craft store, look no further than this fun, earth-friendly collage project!

Supplies:
  • Paper towel tubes
  • Toilet paper tubes
  • Cereal box cardboard
  • Glue
  • Tempera or acrylic paint for completion

Degree of Difficulty: Easy

Ages: 3 and up

Instructions:
First, cut your tubes into different sizes and shapes. You may even cut some tubes apart so they don't even resemble tubes.

Thentake your cereal box cardboard as a base to glue all your tube shapes on to create a dimensional collage. Let the collage dry overnight and paint it the next day. Beautiful results!
