I first started working with individuals diagnosed with developmental disorders in 1992. I loved it. The position was very fulfilling and I had tremendous job satisfaction. The position required me to instruct individuals with developmental disorders on life skills in preparation for more independent living.

Additionally, I have worked as a substitute teacher (K-12), instructing students in the absence of their regular teacher. Both experiences provided me a sense of making a difference. Every night after coming home I felt that I really impacted those I served. I would like to see myself working in a position that would provide me with that same feeling.
