My name is Jana C. and I am a retired corporate executive with 30 years working for the government and industry. However, I started life as a teacher and still hold life-time credentials for multiple subject and single subjects in the state of California. Consequently, my resume does not look like a typical teacher's resume. I am an expert in varying activities used buy and build satellite systems. You will note that I have had a wide variety of experiences and have been successful in all, because I know how to learn a new subject quickly, I know how to apply that knowledge, and because my communication skills in working with others are excellent.

Throughout my career, I have been noted for my ability to mentor and coach subordinates and peers. I have been thoroughly committed to excellence in my work and in being able to achieve difficult goals. I am delighted to be at the point in my life where I can offer help to students who are working to achieve their academic goals. I enjoy an excellent rapport with my students and encourage discussion and debate. I want my students to take advantage of my talent and experience working with a wide variety of people and issues and to look at solving problems from multiple vantage points. In addition to subject matter expertise in literature, language arts and history, I can help students with test taking strategies both written and oral. I am enthusiastic about learning and enjoy the one-on-one aspect of tutoring. I am comfortable working with students grades 5-12 and in college or graduate school.

I enjoy cooking and have taken professional courses and done catering for friends. I also enjoy wine tastings. I love to read, read, read. I am a volunteer for the EMQ Auxilliary.
