I am currently a student at San Diego State University with a double major in art education and English and a minor in psychology. Ultimately I plan on being a teacher because I love working with children and enjoy cultivating their talents. I have volunteered and taught art classes to elementary children in the after school programs. I am truly passionate about art and self-expression because I believe that art is a powerful medium that can convey emotions and can profoundly affect its viewers. Whether it is painting a picture, writing a poem or playing music, partaking in creative expression can lift the load of everyday hardships. I believe in the healing quality of the arts and believe it is a creative platform for students to reflect on the things of this life and delve deep into their inner selves. Overall, I love working with children and love sharing with them my passion for the arts.
