I have been working as a teacher, in a variety of settings for eight years now. I recently completed the master's program in special education, with an emphasis in mild to moderate disorders, from the University of Utah. I have been trained as a reading tutor by the University of Utah Reading Clinic, (UURC). My reading tutoring will be formatted like the Early and Next Steps programs from the UURC. Each session is 50 minutes long. The student is placed in a reading text, (based on individual assessment), that is their instructional level (this will be lower than their grade level). The student will then begin working on vowel patterns, oral reading, and word work.
