I have worked in the field of education for 20 plus years. As a parent it has been a pleasure to assist my own child with his homework as needed. I excel at reading, writing, spelling, grammar, and etc. I teach 13 2-year-olds every day and am proud to say that each and every one of them are beginning to demonstrate an understanding and an ability to form the beginning marks that lead to writing. We spend a good part of the day learning through music and art. As far as testing them goes...to me testing should demonstrate the teacher's ability to share his/her knowledge...no child should fail a test if the teacher has done their part. As a teacher, if I have a student that is clearly struggling, I consider it my responsibility to discover a way for them to learn the information; whether it be from myself or other resources.
