I am originally from the Pittsburgh area, and I have recently returned from New York City, where I was an inclusion and special education teacher for four years. I received my B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder in International Affairs (magna cum laude) and my master's degree in teaching at Pace University in Manhattan. I have left teaching in the classroom to pursue a career in carpentry, but I still enjoy teaching and the excitement of helping students and their families find academic success. Many of my students were able to overcome their academic delays and reach grade-level proficiency through my individualized lessons and high standards for assignments. I have taught a range of subjects, such as: reading, writing, math, social studies, and science. Some of my students had learning disabilities and some were advanced learners, but all were able to improve and accomplish passing state exam scores.
