One of my favorite quotes is: "I learned a lot from my teachers, more from my friends and the most from my students." I enjoy tutoring and working with children because while I am helping them to succeed, they are helping me understand the teaching/learning process and life. I am studying elementary and early childhood education because I feel passionately about, not just helping children to do well, but about inspiring a joy for learning and creating fun, innovative learning activities.

I have worked in child care for many years, which has involved helping students one-on-one with homework. My studies in child development and teaching also enable me to plan developmentally appropriate, individualized research-based interventions based upon your child's needs. I also have experience in doing so. I worked with third graders from an economically impoverished, urban environment, and designed a reading intervention using games, sensorial activities and poetry to improve their reading skills, and saw marked improvement. I taught math to kindergarten and first grade students on Mondays at Pittsburgh Montessori School. I am a tutor for Pittsburgh Public high schools and in high school, I was a volunteer tutor to my peers, so I am also willing to tutor higher subject areas in which I am proficient.
