Each child is unique, as is his/her learning style. I believe in individualizing the way I teach to allow for the greatest mastery of skills. I have worked with many students on all levels. I specialize in working with students in pre-K-grade 9, as well as reading and writing essays for high school students. I tutor in math, reading, science, social studies, handwriting, and test preparation. I also tutor for the SAT verbal and essay sections, using college board curriculum. In addition to those areas, I also offer a program based on the Franklin Covey's 7 Habits for Highly Successful Students. This is an outstanding program for helping middle school and high school students realize the importance of planning, organization, and living a principle-centered life. It also teaches students how being successful at those very same things plays a very big role in being a successful adult. I believe that mastery is the key. Therefore, I start students out at a level where they are currently displaying mastery and move forward. This helps to increase self-confidence, as well as ensure that all fundamental skills are understood. This is especially important for being successful in reading and math.
