I worked as a Nanny for five years and during that time, I tutored a girl from age 2 until 7, teaching her how to read, write, and also getting her to understand that it's OK to not get it right or work closely with her when she got frustrated at different tasks. I also tutored her older brother through middle school and freshman year of high school. During my elementary, middle, high school years, I was always honor roll, honor society, dean's list, math all-star, worked on the school paper, and tutored students in years below me as well as my same grade. I have my bachelor's in psychology and am working on my PhD in child psychology, which is why I really enjoy working with kids and have a different approach to tutoring because I feel it is essential to get kids to where they need to be education wise early on so that it gives them a strong foundation not only as they pass their grade levels and tests, but it also gives them a sense of security and satisfaction and boosts self-esteem when they are progressing and understanding, which helps in every aspect of life as they grow up.
