Gail G. - New York Tutor or Private Instructor
Profile of Gail G.
Part-Time, 10 + Years of Experience
The opportunity of assisting CUNY as a part-time instructional tutor is an excellent match to my interests and skills. For over three years, I taught English and comparative literature at the college level. I also worked as a part-time tutor for several years. My approach to teaching is interactive with much student participation and involvement. Making subjects relevant by means of an interdisciplinary approach to teaching is very helpful. In this way, students see how their particular interests or other subjects create more meaningful relationships to the subject at hand. I enjoy seeing how a subject becomes alive in a student's eyes. Additionally, I thrive on creating imaginative 'out of the box' solutions to teaching. Aside from my excellent written and communication skills, my interaction with both superiors, staff, and students are comfortable and confident. I am passionate about how teaching can enhance a student's life.- Female
