I have worked with grades kindergarten through second grade in after-school programs throughout the Bronx. In addition, I have experience working with TestQuest which offers free tutorial help on a one-to-one basis in the homes. I am currently working with a learning center which also provides the home tutorial service. I am passionate about what I do because I received tutoring services myself at home while in junior high school. I also received help throughout college. I wanted the opportunity to return these services to other students in need of extra help. It is an alternative way to teach outside of the classroom and provide students the personal attention they need in their own familiar surroundings of home. I have always liked working with children and it is a great feeling when students who are struggling finally start to understand the subject(s) they were behind in and light up with confidence. Furthermore, I have experience working as a teacher's assistant (day care-special education sign language paraprofessional), camp counselor (ages 3 to 14), Sunday school teacher, and baby-sitter.
