My background includes 17 years of professional teaching in the ESL field. I worked abroad for a number of those years in Ankara/Istanbul, Turkey and I currently teach ESL in New York City. I'm also a professional writer with a BA in Journalism and a minor in Anthropology. I speak fluent Turkish and have basic knowledge of written Spanish and French. I'm passionate about imparting great writing/conversation and art skills to students. I'm an artist as a hobby and I do woodcutting and other canvas type of art projects involving social awareness. I have worked with children doing ESL drama productions as well as art projects and musical productions. I've worked with children and adults from practically every country in the world and I adore working with people from other ethnic backgrounds and cultures because we are a global society and I'm a global citizen.
