I have worked with elementary school children in an after school tutoring program while I attended Rhodes College, a private liberal arts institution in Memphis, TN. I have spent time volunteering in a sixth grade classroom working both in groups and one on one. After spending three summers at a YMCA camp teaching all manner of outdoor activities, social skills and values, I have a great deal of experience with children of all ages (ages 4-17). I have nannied for families in the past often taking on the role of tutor in addition to caretaking responsibilities. I helped each of the kids stay organized, taught study skills, helped with daily homework and studying for tests ahead of time, as well as editing English papers and working on projects. I am incredibly patient and enjoy helping kids towards the correct answers that I know are inside them, without doing the work for them.
