Babette D. - Los Angeles Tutor or Private Instructor

Profile of Babette D.

Full-Time, 1 Year of Experience

First and foremost, I enjoy teaching in general. There's nothing more satisfying than hearing a student say, "Ohhh, I get it now!" Second, my teaching skills have been described to me as "awesome" by my supervisors; my co-workers have said that I demonstrate a strong work ethic; and the parents of my students have said that I get results from their children. Many times, at the end of class, my students have said, "Thank you for taking the time to explain it to me." I will explain the material in different ways until my student understands it. I've helped frowning students, whom no one could make smile, burst out into laughter when they finally completed an A+ assignment with me as their teacher. Third, my education is advanced and growing. I have a B. S. in Chemistry; I've taken the CBEST once and passed it (70 out of 80 points in math); and I'm meeting with several colleges to discuss getting my Master of Arts in Education and Teaching Credential. Fourth, I've taught various subjects and students. My teaching experience includes teaching all ages, from 4 to 74 years old, in subjects such as math, science, reading comprehension, Spanish, adult literacy, writing and speed reading. I, also, enjoy teaching the state test preps for the SAT, ACT and the ISEE. Last, I have a creative background. I play classical flute; design and hand wrap raw, crystal jewelry; speak and interpret Italian. All of these skills make me a well rounded candidate to teach your students.

Thank you very much. I appreciate your taking the time to consider my job application.
