I love working with students! I became an elementary school teacher because I am passionate about helping kids to start right in elementary school...though I care about students of all ages. Henry David Thoreau has a great quote that sums up how I feel about potential, "I have great faith in a seed. If you can convince me that you have a seed there, I am prepared to expect wonders!" Some students may need a little more watering than others, but I believe each has a seed inside waiting to bloom. I have taught kids in several programs: National Honor Society tutoring in high school, Big Brothers Big Sisters, the 21st Century After-School Program in a city school district, and a mission trip to teach English at a Sudanese refugee summer school in Cairo, Egypt. I care about children near and far!
