I am a student at the University of Colorado at Denver studying Elementary Education. I realized that my passion in life was to be a teacher in high school when I was a student in a program called AVID. AVID is a college prep program in which college tutors are brought into the classroom to tutor, mentor, and provide guidance for the students involved in the program. Since graduating from high school, I have become involved in AVID as a tutor in the Denver Public School system and have loved every minute that I have spent helping students educationally and personally. I pride myself on my ability to encourage life long learning in my students to help them both inside and outside of the classroom.
