In 2005, I tutored elementary- and middle-schoolers at Kumon Center in Buffalo Grove, Illinois. Kumon uses workbooks to improve students' math and reading skills.

In 2006-2007, I tutored juveniles at an alternative high school in Ypsilanti, Michigan. I helped them with English, math, geography, and social studies.

I have a gift for reaching kids and making the material exciting for them. I am a strong writer and have helped others edit and revise papers throughout college. My grammar and spelling are impeccable and I am a patient, organized teacher.

I believe that when you set the bar high, anyone can rise to the occasion.

I can tutor for SAT and ACT, as I scored very highly on both tests and have gone through Kaplan myself, learning the best methods for taking standardized tests.

After working at SenseAble Kids Music Therapy Center, I also have honed in my skills at making learning fun. I can create games on the spot that are enjoyable and stimulating, while educational. With my knowledge of psychology, I use operate conditioning and a variable reward schedule, plus positive reinforcement, to elicit a student's best work.

Computer tutoring:
I am proficient with Macs and PCs. I know all programs in Microsoft Office and am a wiz with the Internet. I can teach any skill level or age how to effectively work a computer.

I have taken French since the age of 11 (I am now 22). I am not fluent but am proficient in the first two to three years of French and could comfortably teach the basics (first two to three years) to any student.

Sports and fitness:
I have played soccer for nearly 10 years. I would love to coach someone learning the game or looking to improve. I know the most effective drills and am familiar with the rules and strategy of the game.

Cooking:
This is my favorite hobby. I actually sell baked goods. Food is a passion, and I enjoy showing others how easy it really is to make your own culinary delights!

I enjoy working out (tennis, soccer, street hockey, running, weight lifting), reading and writing, blogging, cooking and baking, etc.
