I have been tutoring for abut 3 years now for a variety of children, including children with special needs and social/emotional challenges. My educational background has provided me with a Bachelor's degree in early childhood education from the University of Central Florida and a master's degree from Boston College in moderate special needs education. I am currently a full day kindergarten teacher in the Public School system. I enjoy teaching because it provides me with an opportunity to do what I do best, which is to support and nurture children, and help them to be and feel successful. I am comfortable and capable working with children in grades Pre-K to 2nd grade on any subject area, (this is also stated by my teacher certification distributed by the state of Massachusetts). I enjoy working one-on-one with students/children, because it gives the child a chance to ask questions they may be intimidated to ask in the classroom and to feel more confident taking risks and making mistakes. I also feel that children are more productive in a quiet and less chaotic atmosphere. School work can be challenging and overwhelming, so by breaking it down and making it less stressful, children can begin to understand and comprehend the information.
