I have been babysitting for families local to my home since I was 13 and have extended my experience to the community surrounding my school, Drew University in Madison NJ. While I have always been a babysitter, I spent seven years as a camp counselor at the Summer Arts Center in New Rochelle. The last Four of those years were spent as the head counselor, overseeing the counselor staff and working with those campers who needed individual assistance throughout the day. In order to work at the camp, I have been Red Cross trained in CPR and taken the babysitting certification course. I was a ballet dancer for about 13 years, and part of my training was working with the 3-5-year-old age group in their creative movement classes. I love music and arts and crafts, and I am always looking for fun projects to do not only with my nieces and nephew but also with the children I care for. In college, I have begun tutoring not only my peers but students in the surrounding areas. I am an English major and not only do I enjoy reading to myself and out loud, I also love helping and watching as children learn to read and become independent learners.
