Professionally, I have worked with K-12 learning disabled students for 4 years now as a secondary math and science teacher (Algebra I & II, Physics, and Biology) for Fairfax County Public Schools. Additionally, I also spent 3 years tutoring literacy and math topics at an FCPS title I elementary school as a private contractor with Club Z! Tutors. I was assigned to support struggling students varying from first through 6th grades at Riverside Elementary each Saturday morning. I made in home visits throughout the week during the school year. Privately, I have been tutoring students in grades K-12 in various content areas for over 7 years now. My passion for educating today's youth and tomorrow's future has motivated me to take some time off professionally to pursue a master's degree to prepare me to work as a reform advocate for change. From 2003-2007 I worked for the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington for 5 years as a program director at a branch in Dale City. It was a wonderful experience working with youth ages 6-17, especially the at-risk or disadvantaged children, and experiencing the rewards associated with the positive impact the partnership made in their lives.
