I am a recent graduate from Mercer University with a B.A. in Mathematics with a minor in education. In high school, I graduated with a 4.0 and 4-year honors with a very strong background in mathematics. Besides having tutored students since I was in high school, most of my experience leading in learning environments has come from coaching gymnastics and cheerleading for the last four years. I understand how important it is to take struggling students back to a place where they feel comfortable enough with basic knowledge to proceed with their education. The number-one reason students lose interest in mathematics is because they do not know how to look at it as something that is applicable to their lives and capable to be understood. I believe that all students have their own unique ways of understanding that can be discovered by explaining methods until they have that eureka feeling, "Oh! I get it." It is my desire to help students rediscover a passion for mathematics that helps keep them on the path toward a successful future.
