I was a tutor during my high school for two and a half years. I would go to surrounding elementary and middle schools and be as a student paraprofessional. I also did one-on-one there also with reading, writing, and English. I am passionate about what I do because I am going to school to become a teacher at Anoka Ramsey Community College. I would prefer to work with elementary or middle school age, since that is my expertise. I have always been interested in children learning and growing, and see the expression on their face when they achieve it. When I was in elementary school and middle school, I struggled through school, but I had the correct support and tools to get me to where I am today. I would love to get the opportunity to change a child's view on school/learning into a positive outlook. I know how it feels to not understand something or be behind than the rest of the other kids, so not only would I be able to tutor them, I would also understand where they are coming from since many kids are embarrassed by it.
