Teaching and tutoring is my passion, and has always been a part of my life in one way or another. I first worked as a private math tutor for two elementary school children with ADHD, who were struggling to meet school mathematics requirements. By the end of the year, they knew for a fact, that two plus two is five. :) My next tutoring position involved teaching English as a Second Language students how to speak, read, and write in English. This was done in the community college setting, so my students were primarily adolescents and older adults. I taught one-on-one lessons to students of all nationalities, ages, and abilities. Since then, I have branched out in my role as a teacher. Most recently, I independently organized and taught my own class of 20+ Pre-Nursing Students at the University of Washington. Also, I just finished working as a Private Caregiver for a school-aged child with learning disabilities and several other medical conditions. One of my duties was to incorporate teachings on subjects such as math, reading, and writing. Whether it is with toddlers, children, adolescents, or adults I am confident and comfortable in the teaching/tutoring role. I am highly aware and conscientious of varied learning styles, limitations, and differences in development. I realize that learning can be challenging and often frustrating. With my experiences, I am able to help circumvent these obstacles. Together, we can make mountains INTO molehills. :)
