I graduated with a B. A. in English Literature from the University of Central Florida. After, I attained an education minor from the University of Tennessee. Also, I taught 10th grade English as a summer intern. I taught first grade for one year and currently tutor elementary students in reading/comprehension, writing/grammar/vocabulary and math. Also, I tutor high-school students in English Literature and writing (essay and research papers). I am trained to tutor according to the Sunshine State Standards and aid preparation for FCAT. Additionally, I took piano lessons for 10 years and taught music to first through third graders. I believe that I make a wonderful teacher because I love to learn! I understand different learning styles and can adapt accordingly. I have a strong belief that everyone can be successful with hard work! I teach my students discipline and persistence. My encouraging attitude helps my students go above and beyond. I am extremely patient, loving and compassionate. This enables me to help my students overcome barriers and build great confidence. My focus is to not just improve a child's academic career, but build their character for lifelong success. I am interested in tutoring elementary, middle or high school students in reading/comprehension, math (elementary only) or English/grammar. Also, I would love to help adults with reading, comprehension, English and writing/grammar.
