I am an experienced elementary teacher with more than 18 years of experience teaching children. This is in both the private and public sectors, in grades 1-6. Throughout these years, I have been actively tutoring children in this same age level in all subject areas, during the school year and the summer months. It is important to me to talk with the parents/guardians to get a sense of their child's strengths, weaknesses, interests and challenges. Using this information, I implement creative lessons to encourage mastery of difficult subjects. In addition, I have incorporated life skills lessons, games and instructional internet websites, to offer a variety of activities to encourage interest and promote learning. Also, my experiences with tutoring have also involved focusing on homework assignments, class projects and review of basic skills. If possible, I am more than willing to communicate with the child's classroom teacher to discuss curriculum concepts which need to be addressed. I offer reasonable rates and would like to help with your child's learning needs.
