I am a mature, reliable, & flexible adult, who graduated from community college recently with 2 Associate's Degrees in Psychology & Social Science, & from high school in 2008, with Honors. I have never received less than a 3. 6 GPA throughout my entire educational experience. I attended a private, Christian school from preschool to 6th grade, and public schools for middle school & high school. I earned A's & B's my entire life, holding myself to a higher standard & working extremely hard from a young age to be at the top of my class. My strengths are in reading & writing, grammar & spelling, as well as history- although I do excel in all subjects when compared to others my age. I am very good at retaining information & knowledge I've acquired over the years, which is why things I learned in elementary school are still with me today! I am great with kids, especially those in 1st to 8th grade. This past summer, I was the lead teacher for the Kindergarten group at my local church's Vacation Bible School program, & received many compliments from supervisors & parents on my ability to teach the children their daily lessons, keep them focused & behaved, but also show them the time of their life! I am very patient & have a knack for being able to explain complex concepts in ways that every child will be able to understand. My education in Psychology & Social Science have made me very good at dealing with children of all different learning styles & temperaments. Kids have always found me very easy to talk to & very approachable, because I am a fantastic listener. As a tutor, I place a great emphasis on learning different methods of solving single problems, then using the one that works best for that child's learning style. I have learned that repetitive learning with examples is an ideal way for children to learn & retain the information they learn in school. I love children, I love education, I love learning, & I love teaching - so tutoring is a perfect fit for me!
