Hi my name is Nika. I am an 18-year-old freshman from West Hartford, Connecticut and I'm currently enrolled, full-time, and live at Union College in Schenectady, NY. In my free time I sing acapella, play soccer, write music for classical guitar, participate weekly in community service, volunteer in the college admissions office and spend as much time as I can outdoors and staying active. As a child-at-heart, I love kids of all ages and stages of development. I can relate to children who are quiet or introverted. I can help children who need a patient and supportive mentor. I can tolerate children who can be stubborn or disrespectful. And I know how to have fun with them all while also learning. I believe it's appropriate to give a couple eligible tutors a chance to spend some time with your child or children, and then let them decide which tutor they feel most comfortable with. I struggled greatly with organization before high school and all it took was two private sessions in 9th grade with a tutor to turn me around. I am also a fluent Spanish speaker but have been taking language classes since the 5th grade. I am a Spanish language tutor who knows (and has personally used) helpful tricks to memorizing and applying rules, verbs, irregulars, and all tenses. I believe I can motivate your child in a fun way to help them reach wherever it is they want to be.
