I have had many years of paid and unpaid tutoring experiences. I started formally tutoring Kindergartners on their reading skills when I was 17 and then from there, went on to tutor with Habitat for Humanity, Big Brothers, Big Sisters, and the Boys & Girls Club (all in Raleigh North Carolina). In 2008, I started my first paid tutoring job, for Athletics at NC State University (I tutored English, Psychology, Spanish, Biology, Math and some Chemistry to all years of college students). I then switched to private tutoring and began tutoring a sixth grader in math (he improved from an F to an A-!). For a short while, I tutored 2nd and 4th graders, brother and sister, over the summer, but that did not last long because of miscommunication with the parents.

I love tutoring because I think education should be available to all. Even for those subjects that may not seem important, a strong education is what opens doors for people of all ages.
